NEW DATE: A Special Order Hour on nuclear weapons will take place on November 13, 2024 in the US House of Representatives. Rep. Jim McGovern of MA will lead off a discussion about the need to reduce and eliminate nuclear weapons from all countries, in line with the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW, or “Nuclear Ban Treaty”). The Special Order Hour was originally scheduled for Sept 26th, the UN-designated International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons. It was postponed when Republicans canceled business for that day and Congress went into recess.
Please write to your US Rep and urge them to attend this hourlong discussion on the floor of the House. They can also send a written statement if unable to attend in person.
