Correct. There are about 15,000 warheads in the world today. They’re on submarines, in silos in the ground, and on airplanes. The US and Russia each have about 7000. There used to be a lot more — dramatic reductions at the end of the 1980’s made people feel better, but the ones that were destroyed were obsolete anyway: mostly too big to fit on missiles, or too small to keep track of safely.
